Government agencies that hold these unclaimed funds may not know how to locate you and/or they make minimal efforts to locate you.
Yes. However, most people do not even know the government is holding funds that are owed to them. Where would you begin to look? Bear Refunds, LLC is organized to do extensive research to locate unclaimed funds, locate the rightful owners, complete all the paperwork, and hire third parties (mobile notaries and attorneys) as needed to ensure correct, effective claims are filed on your behalf.
Yes, each government agency has different rules/regulations on the timeframes that they hold unclaimed funds. If the funds are not claimed within the timeframe allowed, then the government considers these funds as “abandoned” or “lost”.
The government agency holding these funds gets to keep them. Once that happens, the funds are no longer available to be claimed. So, time is of the essence.
Not much. The forms we require are straightforward and minimal (usually 4–5 documents). We send a mobile notary to you with all the documents to sign.
2–3 months is the typical turn-around time to receive your refund, but it can take as long as 4–6 months. We are dealing with government agencies that all have rules/regulations on how/when they disburse refunds.
We are not attorneys but we consult with attorneys for our business practices at Bear Refunds, LLC and may have to consult with attorneys in your state to address the government agencies holding the unclaimed funds.
Bear refunds, LLC does not ask for any money upfront and you do not owe us anything if we are unable to recover the funds for you. If and when we recover these unclaimed funds, we subtract any expenses (mobile notary, attorney’s fees (if needed), government fees) and then split the proceeds with you. You receive 60% of the remainder of the proceeds and Bear Refunds, LLC collects 40% for all our research, expertise, and filing claims with the government.
The old saying “if it sounds too good to be true” comes to mind.
We acknowledge that this sounds unbelievable. We also acknowledge there are many forms of scammers out there. Our commitment to you is that we do not ask for any money, social security number, credit card information, etc…
In fact, we are asking for your permission to represent you in fighting the government on your behalf for money we believe they are holding from you. If you do not agree to let us represent you, we don’t/can’t move forward.

No. Since government agencies establish deadlines for unclaimed funds to be claimed, the money we located in our preliminary research that we believe is yours, may already be lost.
As we dig deeper into the government records, if we discover the funds are no longer available to be claimed, we will notify you and we stop working on this case. You owe nothing (we eat any cost at that point).
You absolutely have nothing to lose but a few minutes of your time during our communications and with the mobile notary when signing documents. Other than that, you can sit back and relax while we do all the work.
If we are unsuccessful in recovering any funds (the government has already retained them) you have lost nothing. If we are successful in recovering the funds, you get an unexpected payday.
If the rightful owner of unclaimed funds is deceased then the executor or executrix of their estate can sign the documents for the estate and we can proceed to recover these funds. If the rightful owner did not have an executor/executrix named then the heirs of the estate would ALL have to sign the documents for us to represent them with the recovery process.
